Our Saison Extra is a stronger version of the seasonal classic Belgian Farmhouse Ale. The complex aroma is reminiscent of fruitiness and spices, with a slight sweetness due to malt sugars. The temperature is allowed to rise to 28 °C, by which time fermentation has fully attenuated, producing a fascinating character. To highlight the earthy spiciness, we chose English Fuggles as our bitter hops. Saison Extra is really good for crab and stockfish (salted and dried cod), but also for many pork and chicken dishes. Even soft, mature cheeses will excel. A highly versatile table ale for a wide variety of occasions.
Malt: Pilsner malt, wheat malt, Bayer malt, sour malt, dehusked chocolate malt and sugar
Hops: Fuggles and East Kent Goldings
Yeast: Wyeast 3787 Trappist High Gravity
