The cognac of beers, barley wine is only named as such because its alcohol content is similar to that of wine. The aromas are rich with dried fruit, molasses and caramel. Hops show prominently in the flavour, odd for the style. Classic barley wine flavours of brown sugar, molasses and warming alcohol are all present. Finishes with more big sweet caramel malt flavour, ending with grapefruit bitterness.
